KSK is an international champion and is Malaysia’s dignity. There’s none in the international lion dance career don’t know about them. But, do you really know what the story behind all of these glories is?

In 22th of January, 1988,Tan Chong Hing, an amateur lion dance lover had founded KSK. However, a lot of criticisms and objections fell upon KSK. They thought that lion dance is not a proper organization, thus the wrong perspective had brought so much pressure on KSK’s path.

In May, 1991, KSK won their first national champion in Johor, and in December, 1992, they won their first international champion in Hong Kong. In 1996, they had officially registered as an cultural organization. Because of Tan’s passion in lion dance and his determination in developing the objective of lion dance art, he gained the success step by step. After founding KSK for 27 years, they had gained 70 national champions and 60 international champions. This splendid record has not only increased the KSK’s popularity but also make Malaysia people proud of it.


Their objective is to mainly develop the sports culture, cultivate one’s moral through martial art, and explore the KSK’s main ideas: loyalty, kindness, righteousness, courageous and good temper. Most of the people are amazed by their creativity, strength, endurance and perseverance. With that, today’s KSK has been outreached from a small town to the whole nations and become the top famous international lion dance organization

In order to break through the skills, KSK continually explore and design more and more high but dangerous action, and keep on challenging beyond their limits. Pain, injury and even fracture are the common things for them. All of these are not coming with free hand, but because of every member’s endurance, hardworking and braveness in challenging beyond their limit. With that, there’s none who is able to break the world record set by KSK.

Not only are they famous in lion dance career, they also keep on popularizing the sports to the whole nations. Although the mother country of lion dance is actually China, because of the influence by institutional revolution, China Dragon and Lion Dance Association had only established at 1994. KSK plays a main responsibility on this point. As an international champion, their tournament tactics, and creative skills have been highly valued by the international lion dance career and been used as reference. KSK’s coaches are sent locally and even abroad (US/Europe countries, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Brunei, Australia, Canada etc.) to coach and popularize lion dance. Nowadays, you can learn lion dance (South lion and North lion), dragon dance, tiger dance, and 24 festival drum.

When KSK has been registered as a cultural organization in 1996, Tan has planned “Kun Seng Keng”. His intention is to merely form a ‘home’ for the members, but with the endurance and creativity of the team leader and the members, they have slowly developed the plan of ‘Kun Seng Keng”. This not only helps in developing KSK, but also has done a great pioneering work. It is because KSK allows to gather the lion dancer from whole nations, a judge chamber and an all-around sport academy.

Moreover, they will set the show room in order to attract the tourist and become a tourist attraction. If this works, KSK will make another great pioneering work and achieve another peak.
