Every 9th Month in Chinese Lunar Calendar is a big day for people in Muar, it's because is to celebrate the "Nine Emperor Gods Festival". Most of the part of this festival follows the culture in China but they still have some local taboos within it. 

Muar's belief to the Nine Emperor is as strong as other believers. In Muar there are 3 temples of Nine Emperor and Tao Boo Temple is the most crowded. Every year the festival will held for two days, it's because there are 2 temple helding the festival together. Mainly the whole part of the event is about the parade, and this parade is to perform for the Gods.

Let us introduce this temple, Tao Boo Temple. It's about 100 years old for this temple. This temple has seen how Muar has been developed since year 1912. 

The legend of the Nine Emperor said that he has fallen into tragedy at the seaside, so every year last day of the 8th month in Chinese Lunar Calendar, the belivers will go to Muar river to welcome the Nine Emperor to the temple, then the festival will begin. The parade is really amazing here, each of the association or temple will design their own parade vehicle which filled with decorations, as beautiful as an phoenix. The whole journey takes about 3 hours, you can see a lot of citizens will walk along with them or stand beside the road to spectate the parade.

During this time, the whole Muar town will be filled with yellow flags waving around, the incense in the temple is non-stop burning. It is very happenning here, the sounds of the horns, lion dance and dragon are dancing around, there is people putting needles on their body to show their beliefs. During the walk, you can see Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse mascot too to join the croud. Citizens who are spectate the parade can get some gifts too, the believers will hand out some sweets or red egg to give, is to giving out the blessing that their God gave them.
