Panchor is one of the Muar's small town, it takes about 30 minutes to go there from Muar town, and is next to Muar River, the population is not big, is just about 5,000 people. They are using agriculture to support their economy. During the British Colonial times, this place was one of the vital place for agriculture, mostly are palm oils, so on your way to Panchor, you can see there are a lot of palm oils at both side of the road.

According to the elders, Panchor was one of the important town for waterway shipping. During that time, a lot of people want to ship what they mine to Bukit Kepong, so they dropby at Panchor. That time was the glorious moment for this small town, after the 70s, the shipping is getting less and less, and the glorious moment is starting fade away. And now highway has been built, waterway is now canceled and now at Muar town is the main vital town for economy, so Panchor is getting more silent.

But Muar River make Panchor colorful. If you look from google earth arial view, you can see that the town is just beside Muar River, is just like dragon tail sidewinding throughout the land, the view is really nice. This place there are a lot of people who use this view for movies and also attract a lot of tourist to sightsee.

Panchor's river is pretty clear, you still can see seaweed underneath the river and also fishes swimming around freely. Due to the pollution around, you still manage to see this is a very rare sight.

Recently, this river attract a lot of fishing lovers, because the lobsters's meat here is rather firm, you can say is prawn fishing haven here. There is one time a fisher manage to fish a half kilogram lobster, then the news spread out, a lot of people came here to try their luck, so this beautiful yet peaceful place is starting to get more crowded. According to the elders, the population of prawn, is based on the hide tide.
