Hua Nan Coffee Shop has 2 stalls – the first one sells Teochew Laksa, and the second sells pork soup.
The pork soup stall had been passed down for 3 generations. It started when his grandfather opened a roadside stall at Jalan Yahaya and then later on they shifted their business into a shop. The current owner is a young fellow in his early 20s. The customers are used to ordering chitterlings, three-layer meat, pork kidney, pork tongue, pork belly, lean meat and salted vegetables. With an accumulated 45 years of experience, the owner cooks his customers’ choices in his special soup at ease, it is simple and quick yet tasty.



Before serving his dishes to the customers, the owner would add on some salted vegetables into the soup. Salted vegetables are a must-have ingredient among the Teochews, a dish would only be considered complete that way. The vegetables help add flavor into the soup. Try a bowl of fresh pork soup in the morning! It would definitely keep you energized all day long.
