Muar is also famous for its rojak, and this is actually a vegetarian rojak.
The boss open this stall since year 1982 but it changes the concept to a healthier line which is only vegetables. He was actually pretty stress because before this , as a vegetarian he has to face non-vegetarian food every day. So he have this thought why not make a vegetarian rojak? So he research and make his own 100% vegetables rojak.

Through many modify and ingredient testing, he finally found something that can replace prawn paste, he uses salt and sugar solution, Siam brown sugar, soya sauce and cook them together, then put into chill, then he realize after 24 hours, they will become sticky. Then he try the taste which is very similar to the prawn paste. Then later on he use his homemade Asam solution and lemon juice to add the taste, the taste is even similar. Using this recipe, we heard that there is one Singaporean purposely ask him to go over Singapore to tell this rojak. What’s inside is pineapple, cucumber, water spinach, bean sprout and stir them together. It does really taste like normal rojak.

If you want something crispy, you can ask them to add on vegetable crackers, which made by his brother-in-law, to replace prawn cracker but the amount of crackers they made is very less, so you might not get to eat them everytime.

If you bored of the traditional taste of rojak, you can try to change the taste and have a try on this vegetarian rojak.
